Full Garden Transformation | Bangor
The Challenge: Sloping Ground & Privacy Issues
Before our intervention, the outdoor space consisted primarily of a sloping grass area that offered very little privacy from the main road. The homeowners were looking for a modern, functional space directly surrounding the house that would feel secluded and well-structured.
Our Solution: Precision Leveling & Bespoke Design
We executed a complete overhaul of the landscape to maximize the garden’s potential:
Ground Levelling: We levelled the entire area to create a usable, flat foundation for the new layout.
Decorative Stone: Out the back, we raised sleeper beds filled with decorative stone and added winding paths throughout
Seamless Integration: We connected the new patio area directly to the driveway for improved flow and access.
Privacy & Screening: Added new fencing to provide essential screening from the road, creating a private sanctuary for the owners.
Final Finishes: To complete the transformation, we also left a fresh curved lawn at the upper level so there’s still plenty of green space, and even created a paved area for their new greenhouse so it all ties together neatly

@delandscapes We just wrapped up this full front and back garden transformation in Bangor, and I’m absolutely buzzing with how it’s turned out. When we first came here, the homeowners had just finished a stunning new extension with big bi-fold doors, but the garden just didn’t match the rest of the house. The top level was a bit of a jungle — uneven old grass, overgrown trees, and flowerbeds that had lost their shape. It had just become unorganised and wasn’t working for them anymore. Down below, the lower section felt cramped and shaded so our goal was to completely open it all up, and make it functional again. We started by planning everything properly to scale, reworking the levels with new retaining walls and steps to clearly separate the two spaces. Up top, we created raised sleeper beds filled with decorative stone and added winding paths throughout — it’s got loads of character now, and feels much more like a traditional garden, just done right. We also left a fresh curved lawn at the upper level so there’s still plenty of green space, and even created a paved area for their new greenhouse so it all ties together neatly. Out front, things got a serious upgrade too. The old driveway was tired, uneven, and far too tight for what they needed. We dug it all out, widened the entrance with a new matching pillar, and laid a sweeping curved SMA driveway with loads more parking space. To finish it off, we added decorative stone areas and barked planting beds to soften the look, plus a sleek new black limestone step with a bespoke bullnose edge at the front door.
