Multi-Level Garden Transformation | Lagmore

The Challenge: An Inefficient & Unstructured Layout

While this back garden had significant potential, the original layout was not working for the homeowners. The space felt closed off and lacked the necessary structure to make it functional. The goal was to create a modern, high-end environment that utilized the entire area from top to bottom, turning a difficult site into a bright and usable outdoor living space.

Our Solution: A Three-Tiered Modern Landscape

The transformation centred on creating a clear structure through three distinct split levels, each designed for a specific purpose:

  • Upper Level Porcelain Patios: We installed two porcelain patio areas on the top level to create a premium seating space . This included a unique patterned tile sourced from an Italian supplier to add character and contrast against the main porcelain
  • Precision Transitions: Every measurement for the steps, borders, and transitions had to be exact to ensure the tiers lined up perfectly, resulting in a sharp, high-end finish
  • Lower Level Decorative Section: The bottom level was finished with decorative stone and integrated stepping stones, providing a low-maintenance area that remains modern and accessible .
  • Structural Groundworks: Extensive preparation and groundworks were required to support the three-level design and ensure long-term stability .
  • Enhanced Flow & Light: By splitting the garden into levels, we opened up the space, making it feel brighter and ensuring each section flows naturally into the next.

Here’s one final look at our recent Lagmore back garden transformation and the difference from the before shots is unreal. This garden had loads of potential but the layout just wasn’t working, so the whole transformation centred around creating proper structure with three split levels and giving the homeowners a modern, usable space from top to bottom. With two porcelain areas and a lower decorative stone section, every measurement had to be spot on so the steps, borders and transitions all lined up the way they should. It’s the groundwork that makes the final finish look this clean. Up top, we installed two porcelain patios, including a really unique patterned tile we sourced from an Italian supplier. It adds a brilliant bit of character and contrasts perfectly with the main porcelain. Once everything was laid and grouted, the whole upper section immediately felt sharp and high-end. Down below, we finished the space with decorative stone and stepping stones for access, keeping it low maintenance but still modern. Splitting the garden into levels has completely opened it up, made it brighter, and made each space usable in its own way. The full project flows together now — clean, structured and properly finished — and the before/after says it all.
